GFS Wales operates with GFS England. We are one of the oldest charities supporting girls and young women and our work is as vital now as it was when Mary Townsend started GFS. We draw on our Christian heritage in our work with girls and young women in encouraging them to develop their confidence, self esteem, well being and resilience to enable them to fulfil their potential.

In Wales we work with girls from aged 5 to mid teens in Parish based branches. At present there are 3 branches who meet weekly during term time and each branch offers a varied programme of crafts and activities adapted to the girls attending. Two of the branches now have 'young' leaders who have grown up in GFS and are now working with the next generation of girls.

Our Regional Development Co-ordinator is working hard to spread the message of GFS to as many people and organisations as possible. There are plans to start groups for older girls and they will develop their own programme of activities.
