GFS NEW ZEALAND

GFS New Zealand follows the vision of our founder, Elizabeth Townsend, to support young women transitioning from school to further education and training.

Our Council has 10 members who offer their care and support to more than fifteen young women, many of whom are refugees and migrants. Financial help with the payment of University fees or other tertiary education fees is included in the programme and each girl is supported for three years.

We enjoy regular contact with each student by text, phone, and email.

We are fortunate to have a good relationship with several schools in the Wellington area and with their help and guidance we conduct our selection process which happens at the end of each year.

Each year we report to The Anglican Synod of the Wellington Diocese and our Board of Trustees oversees our activities and allows us to continue our programme.

It is a joy to be part of GFS and the care shown to each other and to the young women we support gives us strength, confidence, and hope for the future.
