GFS operates in only one parish in Canada, the Parish of Bonavista in Newfoundland. It is an adult branch and it celebrated 120 years of GFS activities in that parish on 5 November 2014.  They hold very meticulous records going back to their inauguration when Newfoundland was still attached to England and had over 50 branches of GFS.  The World President visited in August 2016 .  This group of women do marvellous service work both in their parish, their nation and worldwide.   They would be one of the most isolated GFS branches in the world and we admire them for their ongoing work to keep GFS alive in their parish.
